Spoleto	From the hotel you may do a lot of sightseeing, especially as daytrips. There is so much to be seen: Spoleto: the annual Festival Dei Due Mundi in June and July – the festival of two worlds. Many special music and theatre productions are staged and various cultural activities take place. The beautiful inner city is dominated by an ancient castle. In the historic centre is the Dome, featuring frescoes by Filippo Lippi. You will also see remnants from the beginning of our era like the Drusus Arch and the Palazzo Comunale with a marvellous collection of paintings and frescoes which were removed from the walls. Spoleto is a great place to go walking and shopping and especially renowned for its gastronomy inspired by truffles, strangozze (a pasta) and game.
Assisi is famous for a three-storeys-high basilica dedicated to Saint Francis with frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. Perugia with its University has an Etruskian Arch and walls. In the city centre you will find one of Italy’s finest squares. Deruta is famous for its beautifully decorated pottery. Montefalco is situated on top of a hill with an excellent panoramic view. Amongst other things the place is renowned for its “Sagrantino di Montefalco” : a ravishing red wine. Norcia and Cascia are both ancient cities, famous for the gastronomy and their black summer and winter truffles. Orvieto was built on a tuff rock hill. The town is famous for its Etruskian necropolis and has a beautiful museum which boasts a unique collection of Etruskian art. The Dome has a famous facade and unequalled frescoes by Fra Angelico and Signorelli. All places mentioned are at an hour’s distance, at the most, from Albergo Villa Cristina.
